The past week the weather outside has been around 0-+3degrees Celcius outside. That doesn't sound too bad right? Well, when you concider our appartment does not have heating, nor is it very well insulated, you can start to grasp how cold it is. They actually said on the radio that the Red Cross is preparing to save people.
The view from the CEDES building looks freezing compared to the picture I took on one of the first days
We have been home only to sleep. Actually we moved all the beds of all four of us just to keep warm in the night and now it looks like a refugee camp. Since all the portable heaters have been sold out in the supermarkets, we warm up the room with a hairdryer. Imagine us, four girls tucked in 3 sweaters, 2 pairs of pants, 3 blankets and the hairdryer.
The typical day we have woken up, taken a boiling shower, warmed the clothes with a hairdryer and evacuated to the campus to go online and study. Since we all expected beach weather, we had packed our bikinis rather than the warm coat. Lucky wollen sweaters were on sale at Zara.

Alex warming her bed with the hairdryer, while Marjo is already between her covers. You can imagine we don't get up during the night, unless you really have to.
Clever Eeva brought a sleeping bag with her, which can be warmed up in the night with the hairdryer.
This is what I call multiuse of my Havanas sandals. Ja kiitos Mummi villasukista, ne on korvaamattomat!
Starbucks is our new favourite place: its warm and you can drink warm drinks while checking your email. From the right: Marjo, Eeva, Fernando and I.
In the beginning we were thought the weather would pass. Then we became hysterical and started warming our hands with candles. Then we got depressed. Now life is a bit better, since today is the first time the sun is shining in a week.
Guess this is what climate change causes; cold weather in Mexico, storms in Europe. All we hope now that the weather will stay better...
p.s. On a brigther note: since the weather was better today, we went to see a local soccer match. The atmosphere was great, and learnt a lot of new ways to swear in Spanish as well!
